Last week, I was lucky enough to meet up at the fantabulous Chicago Diner with some wonderful vegans in Chicago as well as some traveling guests. The food was amazing and it was probably the largest meetup I’ve witnessed in person.
Here was my Radical Reuben, the Diner’s award winning sandwich.

Kim/Veg-in-Training’s Dagwood Sandwich

rad.badger, milkshake, lots of sweet potato fries, and Mr. efcliz

My vanilla chai milkshake, made with cookie dough ice cream because they were out of vanilla (boo-hoo, poor me!).

efcliz having Daiya for the first time. The uneasy look in her eyes is not because she was afraid, but because she had been holding this pose for a little while! Yum!

A table shot. On the left is Tami/AsstroGirl and Mr. AsstroGirl, on the right is porcelainmonkey, and in the background is our stealthy benefactor!

It was a lovely day and so great to meet everyone!

Kelly, it was so great to meet you in person! You’re even sweeter in person than online, which I didn’t think was possible.
It’s the biggest meet-up I’ve ever been a part of, too. Such a fantastic group of people! Oh, and the food was wonderful, too, of course.
REUBEN!
I’m a little slow to reply, but it was so fun getting to meet and hang out with everyone. The food was great and the company even better. Can’t wait until next year.
BTW Kelly, your pictures are beautiful.

I haven’t been to Chicago Diner since ’03. I need to go back there because it is my favorite!
